- Removal, cleaning, and stowing of winter cover
- Equipment startup and inspection
- Screwing down deck grommets
- Installation of deck equipment (ladders, handrails, etc.)
- Removal of winter plugs
- Initial water testing and chemical balancing
- Full system check before first use

You should schedule your pool opening for early spring, before temperatures consistently reach 70°F. Opening early helps prevent algae growth, gives you time to address any maintenance issues, and ensures your pool is ready when warm weather arrives. Since appointments fill quickly, we recommend booking several weeks in advance.
What happens if I skip a proper closing?
Skipping winterization risks frozen, cracked plumbing and equipment damage that often costs far more than the closing service itself. Improper closing can also delay your spring opening, and create safety risks for family members and pets.
Can I be on your schedule every year automatically?
Yes, our weekly maintenance customers are automatically renewed each year in January for the calendar year so there is nothing you need to do.
What's included in a professional opening that a DIY opening usually misses?
A professional opening includes a full equipment inspection and startup check, not just uncovering the pool — catching issues like a cracked fitting or failing pump before you’re swimming in murky water.
Do you offer combined opening and closing packages?
If you are on our weekly maintenance service plan, your pool opening and closing is included so you are covered year round. If you only open and/or close then those two services are separate; however, we do keep you on the schedule every year and will reach out to confirm requested dates.
What if my pool sat closed all last year and wasn't opened on schedule?
That’s a common situation, and our technicians handle recovery openings regularly — we’ll assess the water and equipment condition and get it back to swim-ready.
